Q + A

RSVPs

Can I RSVP online or do I have to mail in an RSP card?

We would prefer you to RSVP by mailing in the card sent with the invitation. They are coming soon, and they're beautiful!

What date should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP by June 1st, 2024.

Directions, Transportation and Accommodations

What are the addresses of the wedding ceremony and reception venues? Are they wheelchair accessible?

The ceremony and reception will be held at the Boat House at Chatham Bars Inn, 297 Shore Road, Chatham, MA 02633

Is there parking available near your events?

Complimentary valet parking is available for guests and the public at CBI's Main Inn.

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Weather permitting, the ceremony will be outdoors on the Boat House lawn. The cocktail reception and after-dinner dance floor will be on the covered verandah, and dinner will be held indoors.

Have you reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?

We have not; CBI does not have discounts for blocks. We invite you to check out the "Travel" page for more information on hotels in the area.

Will there be a shuttle to and/or from the hotel?

The entire event is at the hotel. If you have specific needs, please let us know and we can see about assisting you planning local transportation.

Dress Code

What is the dress code for your wedding?

Cocktail or semi-formal attire (https://www.theknot.com/content/cocktail-wedding-attire)

Are there any colors or styles you'd prefer me to wear?

Blue. Between the hydrangeas and the ocean and our decor, blue is your go-to color.

What is the weather like in the area?

Historically, Chatham on August 1st typically ranges from 68°F to 76°F and is rarely below 61°F or above 83°F. At that time of year, it can be muggy (especially if you are used to Arizona) but breezy. Generally, summer on outer Cape Cod is a little humid but beautiful.

Plus-Ones and Children

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Unless we've otherwise indicated on your invitation, please no. But if you've suddenly gotten married or engaged or otherwise seriously hitched, let us know!

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Our nieces and nephews will be included in the invitations. Child-friendly activities will include a s'mores fire later in the evening and yard games like cornhole. If you think you will need babysitting, or have other questions about children, please let us know how we can help.

Menu and Dietary Restrictions

What type of food will be served at your wedding?

We will be serving a plated dinner featuring a duet of steak and cod (with accommodations for dietary restrictions).

Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions or allergies?

Yes. we're still planning the menu, so we don't know what those are yet, but let us know in the meantime if there's anything we need to consider.

Will there be an open bar?

Seriously, would we make you pay for your own drinks? Expect His and Hers signature cocktails too.

Registry and Gifts

Do you have a gift registry?

No, we have everything we need. We're just thrilled to have you join us on a beautiful Cape Cod summer night and celebrate with us. The best gift you can give us is dancing merrily with us on our special night.

Wedding Week Itinerary

What is the wedding day itinerary?

The ceremony starts at 4:30pm on the Boat House lawn (in case of rain, the ceremony will be held inside the Boat House). A cocktail reception, dinner, and dance-off marathon (well, plain ol' dancing) will immediately follow in the Boat House.

What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?

4:00pm. It's a small number of wedding guests, so it won't take long to get seated. If you are arriving by car and valet parking at CBI's Main Inn, it is a few minutes' walk, with stairs/hills, to the Boat House lawn.

What time will your wedding reception end? Is there an afterparty?

We are required to end the celebration at the Boat House at 10:00pm. Afterwards, we invite everyone to continue the festivities at the Chatham Squire in town.

Will there be a time gap between your wedding ceremony and reception?

No. You only have time for one outfit.

Could you suggest places to eat, drink and see while I am in town for your wedding?

Chatham Bars Inn is located close to Chatham Lighthouse, Atwood Museum, Orpheum Theater, Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, Marconi Maritime Center and more. Chatham Main Street is only a short stroll from the Inn offering many local shops, galleries, restaurants and more. Check out the "Around Chatham" page on this site for attraction and restaurant ideas.

Will there be other events to attend on the wedding weekend?

We are planning a Welcome Dinner on Wednesday, July 31st. Everyone is invited. Details are still scant (we're getting there!), but assume drinks and dinner starting around 5:30pm. We would love to see people on Friday morning for breakfast, but it will be an informal meetup.

Phones, Photos, and Social Media

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

Please do not use your phones during the ceremony. Keep them in your purse or pocket – no photos, no texting, no nothing. Turn on Do Not Disturb. During the reception, please be respectful of our professional photographer as he's attempting to get the best perspectives. Also, we'd much rather see your faces than the back of your phones and have you be present for our special moments.

Can I post wedding photos on social media?

Please do! But as with taking photos, please wait until after the day is done if it will take you out of the moment.

What is your wedding hashtag?

Is that a thing? Actually, that's awesome; make it easy for us to find your photos! Let's use #TheChadAndDanaWedding. Because it's THE Chad and Dana wedding!

Will you be live streaming your wedding?

No. We will have videographers recording the day, so anyone unable to attend will have an opportunity to see a version of it later.

Other

What health and safety measures will be in place?

We're hoping we're past any extraordinary measures. If you have specific questions or concerns, please let us know. If you yourself are ill in the days before our wedding, we will certainly understand if you decide safety calls for you to send your regrets.

Where will wedding updates be posted?

Here on this site! We will send out notifications to y'all if we make important updates.

I have more questions about your wedding, who can I contact?

Please contact Chad or Dana directly. By text, preferably – this is 2024.
